A Note Brief Note Regarding COVID-19

We all are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and teamCOPC sympathizes with those most impacted. At the same time, we recognize that some missions must go forward, including our Pelotonia efforts to end cancer. Throughout our efforts, we will encourage safe community health practices as guided by the recommendations of local authorities. When those guidelines lack specificity or are otherwise unclear, we (including the leadership of teamCOPC) must each follow our own conscience and comfort level, at the same time respecting the decisions of others.

Within these guidelines, cycling is an outdoor non-contact sport, and we do plan to present group rides and events. Risk of virus transmission is remarkably lower outside than indoors in closed spaces. Still, we will request the following of all participants:

Don't join if you've been ill or suspect you may have COVID-19.

Don't join if you've been exposed to a known case of COVID-19.

Don't closely congregate before or after the ride, or at rest stops.

No hugs, high fives or handshakes until deemed socially acceptable.

Carry a face mask for rest stops.

No snot rockets near others. Please. Ever.

Thank you for understanding.

TeamCOPC is a group of physicians, employees and friends of Central Ohio Primary Care dedicated to fighting cancer by volunteering or riding in Pelotonia. In our first eight years, teamCOPC has raised over $1,065,000 for cancer research!

Pelotonia is a grass-roots bike tour with ONE GOAL : END CANCER. 100 % of donations go to fund life-saving research at the Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Since 2009, Pelotonia has raised over $156 million.
