teamCOPC Rider Expectations

teamCOPC prioritizes a safe and inclusive riding experience. We ride as a team, staying together or forming smaller groups when necessary, ensuring no rider is dropped.

Let’s all commit to the following expectations to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and cooperative riding experience for all. Together, we can ride smarter, safer, and stronger as a team.

All participants are required to complete THIS WAIVER before joining any rides.

Safety First!
  • Helmets are mandatory for all riders.

  • Obey all rules of the road to ensure everyone’s safety.

  • Road bikes are strongly recommended for group rides.

The “Group Ride” Mindset
  • Ride Safely - Respect the group and road conditions.

  • Stay Together - Maintain group cohesion whenever possible.

  • Support Each Other - Commit to fostering a positive and supportive environment.

Pace Groups
  • Groups will be organized by advertised paces—please respect these guidelines.

  • Some riders may ride below their maximum ability to keep the group intact. Be mindful and avoid dropping riders.

Please consider that riders may fall back due to fatigue, injury, illness, or mechanical issues. These riders are more vulnerable, especially to cars approaching from behind. Let’s ensure everyone feels supported and included!

Breakaway Groups Are Independent. Riders forming breakaways assume responsibility for themselves.

Rider Guidelines Summed Up

  • Choose Your Pace Group Wisely. Join a group that matches your fitness level and training goals.

  • Be Considerate. Respect the diverse abilities and needs of fellow riders.

  • Assist Ride Leaders. Ride leaders can’t monitor everything—step up and help when needed.

  • Regroup When Necessary. If a rider starts to fall back, pause and regroup.

  • HAVE FUN!!
